The District of Sechelt supports a multidisciplinary approach to public safety and coordinates with appropriate levels of government to prepare for and respond to emergencies.

If you notice something unsafe that is a non-emergency in the community, we would like to hear about it. Please let us know by Reporting a Safety Concern.

PLEASE NOTE: This Community Safety email will be monitored between 8:00 am to 5:45 pm Monday to Sunday, except Statutory holidays. Inside these hours, we will do our best to respond within two hours.

This is a group of community partners including the RCMP, VCH, BC Housing, the District of Sechelt and other community members. The group generally meets monthly to discuss any concerns and put items into action.

This is a volunteer-led community organization dedicated to enhancing safety and preventing crime in Sechelt. They are aways looking for volunteers. Connect with them through their website here.

The Community Watch Team pilot project patrols downtown Sechelt, Davis Bay and surrounding areas, as well as District of Sechelt facilities, parks and washrooms, seven nights a week. The contracted security firm specializes in de-escalation techniques and has specific check in points throughout the community.

Residents should protect their homes and be fire smart. A FireSmartBC grant is a available for you to request a FREE FireSmart assessment of your home or property to help reduce fire risks.
